West Sichuan Rafting Day 2: first 11 km = pure therapy; last 3 km = pure trauma; grand finale = a triple flip! After Day 1’s getting-used-to-it and basic drills, today we finally hit the water! 14 km total. The first 11 km? Total scenery heaven: alpine meadows, blue skies, white clouds, cows and horses everywhere. Everyone slowly lost it—because we’re all “cows and horses” too, except theirs come with grassland, breeze, and freedom; ours come with cubicles, steel cages, and endless grind. Why do fellow wage slaves have to make life hard for each other? Then the last 3 km flipped the script—intensity went straight to max. Big waves and long rapids, like two coaches with zero sportsmanship, magnified every ounce of fear and hesitation: technique started falling apart, stamina tanked along with skyrocketing heart rates, route choices were left to fate, and wave management was left to yelling. Rescue blockbuster—cameras rolling! And the group chat? Definitely not afraid of drama—“stay safe” on the surface, “FLIP! FLIP! FLIP!” deep down. But gotta hand it to the newbies, Lele and Mengmeng, a mother-daughter duo—they’re seriously tough. One day of training and they were already keeping pace with the veterans.
