A late-season severe weather event resulted in several tornadoes across portions of western and southwestern Oklahoma on November 7, 2011. The supercell responsible for a majority of the tornadoes developed just southwest of Vernon, Texas before moving northeast into Southwestern Oklahoma. This storm continued northeast into the Wichita Wildlife Preserve west of Lawton.
