I Played David Lynch's Favorite Video Game (Gadget: Invention, Travel, and Adventure)

Originally streamed to https://twitch.tv.sonicthehedgegod Sorry for my character voices getting progressively worse as the video goes on and I lose my voice further and further. In my defense, I'm always this bad, and I will do it again. I found this game when a funny little video from ‪@jacktheartisan406‬ popped up across my homepage: "David Lynch's Favorite Video Game." Of course, I was intrigued, so I thought it'd make for a fun stream. All in all, the game is pretty short and straightforward (at least, from a gameplay perspective). Besides just being from the 90s, there's something beautifully 20th century about it, from the very John Cage-y, Benjamin Britten-y, Arnold Schoenberg-y OST, the zeerust retro-futuristic setting and architecture, the sparseness, the 70s sort of color palette, the Philip K. Dick and David Lynch nods, I found it incredibly charming, and if that's your bag, I highly recommend it. That said, it is very linear, and is basically akin to a visual novel for people who love mid-century art and scifi. So if that's your incredibly niche bag, check it out, though I do warn that I give away most of the game here. As for the David Lynch connection, I defer you to Jack's video - it's pretty well-researched and makes a compelling case. It's pretty surprising I'd never heard of this, since I've followed Lynch since the late 00s and it seems since then he seemed totally uninterested in video games at all, at least since he was doing AMAs on twitter and reddit (I, too, longed to hear his thoughts on Silent Hill, but he seemed to be pretty uninterested).
