Watch at your own peril….this one is spooky and creepy…Rock has always flirted with the dark side — but some stories go too far beyond the music. Today we're pulling back the curtain on the most harrowing true crime stories the rock world has ever produced. It’s our latest countdown of Rock True Crime Stories… “Halloween Edition.” We’ve got the twisted story of rising star Bobby Fuller on the verge of breaking through to the big time… but he was found unresponsive in a car soaked in gasoline. All signs pointed to foul play. But police ruled it out without even dusting for a single fingerprint. So what really happened? Then there is one of the most dangerous criminals in American history who told investigators that AC/DC's music had soundtracked his crimes. The media firestorm that blew up held the band responsible for the actions of a monster they'd never met. PLUS Frankie Teardrop, one of the scariest songs ever recorded…It was so disturbing the singer threw up in the middle of it. And for decades, several radio stations have sponsored huge contests to see if a listener could get through the song in the dark. Nobody could. Can you? Let's get into it.

Hey Music Junkies, we have a special edition of our Rock and Roll True Crime episode: Halloween edition. Let’s get into it.
Kicking things off at #8, it’s the tragic story of Mötley Crüe and the passing of Hanoi Rocks' Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley. During the early 80s, Mötley Crüe emerged as the undisputed glam metal leaders on Hollywood’s Sunset Strip. Fronted by Vince Neil, alongside bassist Nikki Sixx, guitarist Mick Mars, and drummer Tommy Lee, the group combined heavy rock with theatrical visuals, wild hair, and an unrelenting party lifestyle. Albums like 1981’s Too Fast for Love and 1983’s Shout at the Devil both went multi-platinum. And by late 1984, Neil was a major rock star, famous for fast living… a lifestyle built on high-performance sports cars, alcohol abuse, and uninhibited excess.
On December 8, 1984, Neil’s reckless lifestyle resulted in a tragic disaster. While hosting a multi-day party at his Redondo Beach home for visiting members of the Finnish rock band Hanoi Rocks, Neil ran out of alcohol. Intoxicated, Neil drove his 1972 Ford De Tomaso Pantera sports car to a local liquor store, bringing along Hanoi Rocks' 24-year-old drummer, Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley, in the passenger seat. While speeding down a residential street, Neil lost control and collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle. The crash critically injured the two occupants of the other car, leaving one with brain damage… while taking Razzle’s life instantly. Neil was arrested with a blood-alcohol level well over the legal limit and charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence. His sudden passing shattered Hanoi Rocks just as they were preparing for their major American breakthrough… causing the group to disband shortly thereafter. Hanoi Rocks frontman Michael Monroe described the devastation the fatal crash inflicted upon the band's career and their personal lives… "What do you think?
It sucked big-time, of course. It pretty much destroyed our lives back then and consequently led to Hanoi's early demise in 1985. Vince Neil got away with it, but losing Razzle like that completely took the heart out of our band.” Neil ultimately pled guilty, receiving a light sentence of 30 days in jail, 5 years of probation, restitution payments, and community service. The short jail time sparked widespread debate over celebrity privilege in drunk driving incidents. The Redondo Beach crash became a tragic turning point in 80s hard rock history, casting a long shadow over the Sunset Strip glam metal scene. While Mötley Crüe went on to release dominant albums like Dr. Feelgood after entering sobriety, Neil’s involvement in the fatal crash altered the trajectory of Hanoi Rocks, and prematurely took the life of Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley.
