1989 09 23 GSU vs MTSU Hugo Bowl

This is the legendary Hugo Bowl with audio by Nate Hirsch and Frank Inman from their radio broadcast. Hurricane Hugo was on its way toward Charleston and the Statesboro area was catching some serious wind and rain. Erk was still on the sidelines; this was his last season before retiring, and the Eagles were on their way to a perfect season with Raymond Gross at the helm. If you are a Blue Raiders fan you don't want to watch this one...too many turnovers. But many Eagles played well, including Giff Smith, Pat Parr, Shane Maxwell, Joe Ross... I left in some ads because they seemed like a lovable slice of 1989 life, and Nate and Frank made interesting comments during TV ads.
