Session 2 of 2 on the allegory of King Puranjana from the Srimad Bhagavatam, Canto 4. It opens on the conditions we have 'subscribed' to without knowing, and why chanting makes them lighter, then Bhagavad-gita 5.23 on tolerating the urges. In the story: the war inside the city of nine gates, the attack of days and nights, Kala-kanya (old age) and the Yavana king, Puranjana's death and rebirth as Vaidarbhi, her service to Malayadhvaja, and the return of Avijnata, the friend she never knew: 'We were two swans.' With Narada Muni's verses (4.28.55–63) on the soul as Krishna's reflection.
