Summer on the Swedish Railway part 44 - Trains in Östersund

Filmed on August 2, 2026, at Östersund Central in Jämtland. In this video, recorded on a midsummer day, you can see some of the many interesting freight and passenger trains passing through Östersund on a Sunday. Some of the highlights include an Inlandståg T44 collecting wagons from the Lugnvik industrial area, and a Hector Rail pulpwood train running from Storflon to Ånge. Coincidentally, that particular train is hauled by twin 142 locomotives - a sight we had never seen before, as these trains typically run with a 243 (Vectron) locomotive in the lead. Other trains featured in the video include the Y1, X62, Rd2, Rc6, and the UNIMAT 08/4S. The services include Inlandståg passenger trains, Norrtåg, Green Cargo freight trains, SJ InterCity, and NRC work trains. Östersund Central is located along the Mittbanan line right next to Lake Storsjön and also connects to the Inlandsbanan line.
