Tiger Rag - 1932 Description: November 5 saw the release of their first record, a prolifically recorded number but now enhanced by a unique rendering. "Tiger Rag" was the prelude to a distinguished recording career that was to continue into the 1980's and during which they were teamed with many other well-established artistes, the Boswell Sisters, Bing Crosby and Duke Ellington being only the start of a very long and distinguished list. They were constantly in demand for radio and performed on this medium as frequently as possible, for that was the passport to nationwide fame in the USA. Their schedule was so tight that they often had to rehearse in the taxis, much to the delight of the drivers taking them from one engagement to another. Rudy Vallee gave them a big break when he featured the boys on his popular "Fleischmann Hour" broadcast. A snippet from yet another sponsor appears on this album in which they sing their theme "Goodbye Blues" for 'Crisco'. Discogs: r9939190 Final Note: Description paragraphs are split between uploads.
