Our theme is “Shungu”, a Shona word which means "resilience". There is no better time to emphasize the need for resilience in the young people than now when we are in a tiring economic & political space. We want to show the possibility of growth and success, and the importance of holding on to dreams, especially to the young ladies. It’s not a radical gender empowerment event, but one that simply celebrates women and their equal potential to achieve as much as their male counterparts. Zimbabwean advocate of the High Court and Supreme Court of Zimbabwe. She's also a political activist who has been very vocal in her opposition to Zanu-PF governance since about 2015. She is also a lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe Falculty of Law with a unique take on feminism.
