Claridenfirn – A Glacier in Transition

In the Glarus Alps, not far from the famous Tödi, lies the Claridenfirn glacier. Like many other glaciers in the Alps, it is strongly affected by climate change. The summer of 2026 left clear marks on the glacier, with widespread melt, exposed ice and numerous crevasses visible across the surface. This video shows the beautiful landscape around the Claridenfirn and how much the glacier is changing. You can clearly see the melting ice and many crevasses.
