Viewers were left heartbroken last year after the show's main character and heartthrob was killed off in a shock twist during the series three part one finale. And now, ahead of season three's second instalment of Our Girl, Michelle Keegan has revealed that her character, Georgie Lane, will still wear Elvis Harte's engagement ring despite his tragic death. The actress, 30, also admitted that it has been 'really, really strange' filming the show without actor Luke Pasqualino, who had played the handsome Special Forces Officer since series two.Talking ahead of Our Girl's return in June, Michelle said: 'It was really, really strange. Luke and I started on the series at the same time together and it was so odd when he left. It was like a hole and I definitely missed him.  'We literally started the next episode the day after Elvis died. Luke left on a Thursday and on a Friday we started to film Episode five. It took a long time for me to adjust as all our storylines were always based around Georgie and Elvis and the "will they, won’t they" situation. So when he wasn’t there, I had to have a different mind-set. 'She still wears his engagement ring around her neck, which was my idea, as she loved him so much and he was the love of her life. I thought it was a nice idea to have a part of him with her at all times.' She added: 'She’s had six months out for grievance purposes and is now throwing herself into work. She’s definitely not over Elvis at all and you’ll see throughout the episodes that his death has really affected her.'The show's decision to kill off heartthrob Elvis in September, after he discovered a hidden bomb just hours after getting engaged to Georgie, was inevitably met with strong reactions, with some viewers even hitting out at the BBC and claiming they wouldn't watch the next series without him.Talking about the strong social media response, Michelle admitted it was 'crazy' as she continued: 'Oh my god, I was in Malaysia at the time and it was 6:00am when it aired in the UK. 'I looked at my phone and it had gone crazy. What was great was that it hadn’t been released that Elvis was going to get killed so it was obviously a massive shock for the audience who follow the story. 'I just remember that all the women’s hearts on Twitter were broken that night.' While writer and creator of Our Girl, Tony Grounds, jokingly added: 'They were very understanding. Apart from the death threats and the broken hearted millions!' Away from the show, Michelle has spent much of her married life to former TOWIE star, Mark Wright, apart due to their working commitments on opposite sides of the world.Mark bagged a television corresponding role with the gossip site Extra, and relocated to Los Angeles for the job in September.Meanwhile Michelle has flitted between England, Malaysia and South Africa to film the BBC drama Our Girl.Talking about being away for eight months, and only coming home for two weeks in August, the actress admitted it was 'tough'.
