But listen closely, because every name on this list quietly proves something else entirely. Ric Flair built a fifty year career on being the loudest man in the room, the richest man in the room, the most confident man in the room. Yet when he actually sits down and talks about the wrestlers who mastered this business at the highest level, he keeps pointing at other people. Ten of them. Men who taught him how to survive, men who tested him bell to bell, men who saved his confidence when it was falling apart, and at least once, a man who quite literally carried him across the finish line of his own career. This is not a simple list of favourites picked off the top of his head. It is closer to a map of everything Ric Flair actually needed to become the Nature Boy, and a surprising amount of it was never something he built entirely by himself. Counting down from number ten to number one, here is Ric Flair's own personal canon of wrestling greatness, and what it quietly reveals about the man doing the counting.
