Welcome to Seewiesen – the Max Planck Society's research institute for Ornithology. Located 50km south of Munich, Germany, Seewiesen hosts two departments led by directors Bart Kempenaers (Behavioural Ecology and Evolutionary Genetics) Manfred Gahr (Behavioural Neurobiology) and several independent research groups that investigate various ornithological topics through interdisciplinary approach and numerous international collaborations.
