Today was a beautiful and unforgettable rainy day in the village. The rain came down heavily, but that didn’t stop me from heading to our garden to plant green grams (mung beans) and continue our journey of growing food from the soil around us. 🌱🌧️ After working in the wet garden, I returned home and prepared a delicious traditional village meal in my mum’s traditional kitchen. Since our modern outdoor kitchen is still under construction and not yet complete, we went back to the simplicity and warmth of the traditional kitchen where so many family meals have been prepared. ❤️🔥 I cooked scrambled eggs, a huge serving of soft Ugali, and fresh vegetables, creating a wholesome farm-to-table meal for the family. 🍳🥬🍚 From the sound of heavy African rain, planting in the garden, fresh vegetables, traditional cooking, firewood and smoke, to sitting down to enjoy a hearty homemade meal — this video captures the simple beauty of authentic African village life.
