Timmelsjoch (Italian: Passo del Rombo), elevation 2509 meters, is a high mountain pass connecting the Ötztal Valley in the Austrian state of Tyrol to the Passeier Valley in Italy's South Tyrol province. The scenic 50-kilometer road features 44 long bends, offering panoramic views of the surrounding North and South Tyrolean Alps.
The toll booth is located on the northern side of the pass in Austria, and toll fees are collected only on this Austrian side. The Italian side, which is toll-free, has driving restrictions: it is closed to trucks, buses, caravans, and vehicles with trailers. Vehicles over 8 tons, those longer than 10 meters, and trailers longer than 4.5 meters are prohibited from using the Italian side.
Timmelsjoch / Passo del Rombo is generally open to traffic from early June to late October, depending on weather conditions. Kawasaki Z1000SX
