Is your car's heater blowing lukewarm air or barely producing any heat? A partially plugged heater core could be the problem! In this video, I'm taking a deeper approach to cleaning a clogged heater core using CLR. I'm working on a Ram 1500, but this method is relevant to anyone researching heater core flushing and ways to restore cabin heat in their vehicle. I'll show you my deep-cleaning process and discuss why a more thorough cleaning may be worth considering when a basic heater core flush doesn't get the results you're looking for. HONDA SERVICE BULLETIN 14-063 — CLR HEATER CORE FLUSH Honda published Service Bulletin 14-063 for certain 2012–2014 Honda CR-V models experiencing low heat from the driver's-side vent due to a potentially partially clogged heater core. The bulletin specifically lists CLR as a required cleaning product and describes a dedicated flushing procedure. The procedure specifies circulating a CLR and water mixture through the heater core, followed by an extensive clean-water flush. This is a real manufacturer service bulletin, not just an internet recommendation. Read the bulletin here: https://honda.oemdtc.com/264/low-heat... Important: Honda's procedure applies to the specified CR-V models and condition. It does not mean CLR is approved for every vehicle or cooling system. Always check your vehicle manufacturer's guidance, follow the cleaner's safety instructions, and thoroughly flush and refill the system with the correct coolant.
