All music and photography created by James Moat. I've been camping many times but the world of backpacking is still very new to me. If my memory serves me correctly, I think I had only been 5 times before I took this trip. Each of those trips was a single night backpacking adventure, so it was pretty exciting for me to undertake my first multi-night trip out into the wilderness! This was also my first time exploring the Pukaskwa area, and it is an extremely beautiful part of the Lake Superior shore that must be visited. I'm super excited to be launching this as my first video on my new YouTube channel! I'm so passionate about the outdoors, and I also love video editing/music production/photography, so I'm looking forward to spending more time creating videos and seeing where my adventures take me. I actually came up with the name for this channel while I was on this trip - one of the best things about the solo trips is how much time you spend with yourself, and it's so interesting to see where the mind will go. The name is meaningful to me because for many years I've struggled with putting myself first in life. I only recently realized that I used to worry too much about what other people think of me, and I also was living my life the way I thought others wanted me to live it, rather than to live my life for myself. This epiphany realization happened to occur to me while I was starting to spend much more time getting away from people and the city, and immersing myself alone in the wild. Since I became aware of this, I've been careful to spend time on myself while also keeping great relationships with those around me and my quality of life has been improving exponentially. Additionally, I'm spending as much time as I can outdoors because that's where I'm happiest! It's not unknown that spending time in nature is good for everyone's mental health, so I can't stress enough that everyone should get outside when they're able. It doesn't have to be out into the wild either, it can just be getting out of the house for a walk around the block. I know not everyone has the luxury of owning a car or knowing someone who does, but I believe that anyone has the ability to get outside, disconnect and discover themselves. So with a full heart and a hopeful mind I say, LIVE FREE ROAM WILD
