This theme is being developed across multiple manuscripts in a proposed book series focused on virtual exchange and global learning. This handbook addresses a critical gap in global higher education by showcasing how disciplinary learning is enriched through virtual exchange. As traditional geo-spatial study abroad programs and cross-border partnerships face mounting barriers, this volume offers chapters from scholars across five continents, with 35% from the Global South featuring 40 subject areas organized in 13 thematic sections including 65 chapters across six continents with 185 contributing authors. This collection of research illustrates how faculty-led subject matter experts, engage learners with content-rich virtual collaborations that foster disciplinary global learning and deepen subject mastery for praxis.
