Why Was the Prehistoric Ocean So Terrifying? If you swam in a prehistoric ocean, the question wouldn't be IF something found you. It would be WHAT found you first. In this video we descend through 372 million years of ocean history and meet the most terrifying predators that ever lived beneath the surface. An armored fish with blades instead of teeth. A marine reptile with a head longer than your body. A lizard that pulled its prey deeper with every bite. A whale that hunted other whales. And at the very bottom of the dive, the most feared shark in the history of the planet: Megalodon. Along the way we bust some of the biggest myths about these animals. Dunkleosteus was probably far smaller than you were told. One famous Kronosaurus skeleton was partly made of plaster. And the reason scientists still can't agree on what Megalodon actually looked like is stranger than you'd expect. Every fact in this video is based on real fossil evidence and published research.
