Time Out: The Breaks Tennis Can't Stop Fighting About

Tennis has no halftime, so players stop the match another way: the medical timeout and the bathroom break. This video goes through the fights in order: Victoria Azarenka's "choke of the year" timeout against Sloane Stephens in Melbourne in 2013, Rafael Nadal booed in the 2014 Australian Open final, Novak Djokovic's break in the 2021 French Open final, Alexander Zverev's "his dad is texting" in Cincinnati, Stefanos Tsitsipas's eight-minute break against Andy Murray at the 2021 US Open, the ATP's three-minute rule that followed, Daniil Medvedev calling it "stupid", Murray refused a bathroom at 3 a.m. in 2023, Djokovic's MRI post in 2025, and Medvedev's cramp complaint against Jannik Sinner in Rome in 2026. The take at the end is our opinion. #tennis #tsitsipas #andymurray #australianopen #codeviolation
