CLOSE TO HOME (Lyle Mays) for Solo Piano by Uwe Karcher

February 10th, 2020 - just got the worst news of all: "Lyle passed today in Los Angeles after a long battle with a recurring illness, surrounded by loved ones" (Pat Metheny on "patmetheny.com", Feb. 10th, 2020). I'm just working on "Au Lait" (arrangement for solo piano) and find me thinking every day how gifted Lyle was. What a loss! I always hoped he would return on stage one day. Now we know this won't happen. One consolation is that all the wonderful music will stay forever, for example this wonderful composition which I arranged for Solo Piano. I really enjoy to play this - thanks for this incredible tune! You guys can find it on Lyle´s first CD called "Lyle Mays" (1986).
