Are religious people really weak-minded—or could some of them be among the strongest-willed people we know?
In this episode, I look at religious conviction from a different angle. This isn’t about whether someone’s beliefs are right or wrong. It’s about the incredible focus, discipline, devotion, and desire people can develop when they truly value something.
I talk about the phrase my grandmother used to say, “con ganas,” and why I think that idea of doing something with real desire has been lost in a lot of people today.
But strong will can also become dangerous when we stop questioning ourselves or when we begin imposing our will on other people. I also share my own experience with leadership, how I’ve used that strength the wrong way in the past, and why I now believe real leadership should help people become stronger, think for themselves, and develop their own identity.
Maybe the lesson isn’t that religious people are weak-minded at all.
Maybe the real question is: what are you doing with the strength of your own mind?
