Passengers see one price. Drivers see another — and sometimes the difference is wild. In this video, I compare real Uber and Lyft trips to show exactly what the passenger paid versus what I actually received as the driver. One passenger paid $71.93 for a 6.94-mile Uber ride. On another trip, a customer paid $19.95 for a delivery and Uber paid me just $3.04 before the tip. And on one Lyft ride, Lyft actually paid me more than the passenger paid. These are real completed trips from my own driving history, including the actual fare breakdowns, tips, fees, and driver earnings. The point isn’t that every Uber or Lyft ride is bad. It’s that there is no simple percentage that tells you how much of your fare goes to the driver. If you’re a passenger, did you think drivers were getting more of what you paid? If you’re a driver, what’s the strangest passenger-fare-versus-driver-pay split you’ve seen? #Uber #Lyft #Rideshare #UberDriver #LyftDriver #GigEconomy
