The 1949 Showa Optical GemFlex is one of the smallest twin lens reflex cameras ever made. In this video review / overview I go over some of its history, show you its features, and then take it by the lake to give you an idea of what it is like to compose photos on a focus screen the size of a postage stamp.
NOTE 1: I didn't mention price in this video, however when new the camera cost around $20, which is about $220 when adjusting for inflation.
NOTE 2: The GemFlex is technically a Pseudo-TLR. Pseudo-TLR cameras use fixed focus taking lenses, and typically use a brilliant finders and don't show what is in focus. The GemFlex DOES show you what is in focus at f3.5 (since it uses ground glass), but since you can't adjust focus in the traditional sense it falls into the Pseudo-TLR category.
