CARRIE Season 1 Episode 1 REACTION - Already Hooked! - First Time Watching!

Welcome to my first time watching as I react to Carrie Season 1 Episode 1, "First Period"! Get Access to the Full Length Reaction:   / technicolorchristv   From Mike Flanagan, who wrote and directed this premiere, this Amazon Prime Video adaptation of Stephen King's first novel stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie White, Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Siena Agudong as Sue Snell, Alison Thornton as Chris Hargensen, and Matthew Lillard as Principal Grayle. After her father dies, Carrie starts at Ewen High, while survivors look back on the prom night that destroyed Chamberlain, Maine. I'm a huge Stephen King fan, but I read Carrie 20 years ago and never really connected with it, so I was excited to revisit it with Mike Flanagan. I love the way they're doing this, with Sue's documentary-style interview and cuts to the destruction that's coming! Samantha Sloyan is so good as Margaret, and I have a very particular dislike for people like her: the prayer closet, her comments on the world and people. The modern setting works perfectly, with a shooter drill as one of Carrie's first traumas. It's horrendous that kids have to do that now. Carrie is so sweet and eager to make friends, but everyone knows the tragedies and nobody knows the books. I remember the locker room scene from the book, but it's no easier to watch. And that ending... it wasn't just Carrie?! I'm already hooked! TIME STAMPS: 00:00 Intro 01:33 Carrie 1x1 Reaction 28:51 Carrie 1x1 Review Carrie playlist: #Carrie #StephenKing #Reaction
