A lot of folks have theorized that the sudden impact of a hammer on steel causes a cleaner and more precise dimple than the slower impact method. I explore this theory with real world tests and give you the results. I also include the pneumatic squeezer as part of the test as it seems like an obvious thing to include. I also try to give examples of under/over dimples.
