Somerton Beach | METRO Land based King George Whiting & Blue Swimmer Crab | Fishing South Australia

There have been a lot of things keeping it me off the water lately but I managed to find enough time to pop down to Somerton Beach for a land based session on one of South Australia’s iconic species, the King George Whiting. I came to the decision to fishing for KG Whiting mainly because of the last time I fished Metro (Seacliff Beach) I caught lots of undersize King George Whiting and had a feeling I would find a few larger ones just a few kilometers up the coast. The weather started out good but unfortunately the afternoon sea breeze picked up a little stronger than I hoped it would making fishing difficult. In hind sight I wish I had gotten to the beach around 1-2 hours before the low tide, Regardless I still had a nice, quick session catching my targeted species on an Adelaide metro beach.
