Welcome to the Beginning of Adventure: Waypoint 0!

If you ever travel out west, you will typically find more available dispersed campsites than you can shake a stick at! But when you get east of the Mississippi, those campsites can become few and far between. Calhoun County, West Virginia, a tiny county with less than 6,000 residents, wanted to change that. Together with support from federal, state, and local governments, Calhoun County created a dispersed camping area at the Calhoun County Park, a designated dark sky site, where overlanders can enjoy dispersed camping in the West Virginia wilderness. Welcome to Waypoint 0 (Zero)! Bill and I joined our friends Will and Christie from @KentuckyJeeper in West Virginia to celebrate the grand opening of this local gem, and explore the backroads and woods of Calhoun County.
