Following a traditional church crowning ceremony, the reception in a grand banquet hall came alive with the vibrant Khigga line dance. With hundreds of guests waving embroidered yalekta handkerchiefs to the joyful sounds of the zurna and drums, Ashour and Valantina’s wedding was an unforgettable night of cultural pride and love. ————————- شهدت مدينة شيكاغو في يوم ١٧ - اب - ٢٠٠٢ حفل الزفاف الآشوري المميز للعروسين آشور وفالنتينا، في احتفال رائع مزج بين أصالة التراث الرافديني والحياة الأمريكية. بعد مراسم الإكليل المقدس وتتويجهما في الكنيسة، انتقل الحفل إلى قاعة كبرى نبضت بأجواء رقصة الخكا التقليدية. ووسط تفاعل مئات الضيوف الذين لوحوا بمناديل الياليكتا المطرزة على أنغام الزرنة والطبول، كانت ليلة زفاف آشور وفالنتينا ليلة لا تُنسى تجسد الحب والاعتزاز بالجذور.
