Disfruten! Lollypop Lorry – Stick By Me This time a new LP consists of original tracks only, excluding covers on large-scale artists. The release had been recording in stages from 2023 to 2024 in different parts of the world: it started in Istanbul, gained steam in Yekaterinburg, and, having made its way through Los Angeles, Mexico City, Lagos, Tbilisi, Milan, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo, finished in the Ural capital, the homeland of the band. The main concept of the album is the classic Jamaican groove of 60-70s. It’s a journey from the instrumental ska with its powerful brass section, through the vibey rocksteady and viscous roots, to tropical pop-reggae, flavoured with cosmic synthesizers and backing vocals. Work on the main part of the album had been going since 2019, starting shortly before our first tour in Mexico, and then the subsequent series of world events gave us the idea for the title of the entire release. The phrase ‘’Stick By Me’’ became some kind of our mantra and it continues to be more relevant than ever now, in light of the difficult transitional period in the fate of the world. ‘’Stick By Me’’ is our confrontation with the challenges of difficult times that we have all been experiencing in recent years and, at the same time, it’s a cry from the heart of a band, whose members due to various circumstances have been living in different parts of the world since 2022. But still there is no drama: the release is filled with good mood, pleasant nostalgia and lyrics about love, life and music. Enjoy!
