It was a decent ride, and I was surprised by how few people were out on their bikes, especially considering how good the cycleways are. This was on a Sunday morning. Overall it was safe and fun. We kicked off from Roma Street Station and hopped onto the Bicentennial Bikeway. It was smooth sailing from there. Up until just outside Ipswich, which is about 80-90% of the total ride, the cycling was top-notch. There were a few bumps along the way, but overall, they’ve done a ripper job with the cycleway. Things got a bit dodgy when I hit Brisbane Rd at Dinmore—felt like there was no room for bikes. But once I got off Brisbane Road, it was all good again, and I wrapped up the ride at Riverheart Parklands, it just the corner of Ipswich CBD. The video of the ride runs for about 1 hour and 45 minutes, but the actual ride took me around 2 hours, covering 43 kilometres. I did this on a Sunday morning around 8 AM. The route’s doable for a return trip, but it’d need a few tweaks.
