祇園東の舞妓さん【富瑛梨さん】が衿替えをされ芸妓さんとして挨拶回りをされました。コロナ禍の舞妓さんデビューとなりましたが持ち前の明るさで努力と修練を積まれ祇園東の舞妓さんの中心的な存在となられていきました～Maiko gionhigashi 💕 Kyoto Japan 舞妓さんが芸妓さんになることを「衿替(えりかえ)」といいます。それまでの舞妓の赤い衿から白い衿に替わります。 芸妓を選択すると、置屋から自立して、舞踊や三味線、唄などの芸と接遇のプロとして自分の力で身を立てる厳しい「自前」の現実が待っています。いよいよこれまでの真価が問われていきます。 Tomieri, a maiko from the Gion-Higashi district, has undergone the erikae (collar-changing) ceremony and made her rounds to offer formal greetings as a newly-fledged geiko. Through her innate cheerfulness, hard work, and dedicated training, she had become a central figure among the maiko of Gion-Higashi. The transition from maiko to geiko is known as *erikae*—a term referring to the change from the red collar worn by a maiko to the white collar of a geiko. Choosing the path of a geiko means becoming independent from one’s okiya (geisha house). It marks the beginning of a demanding new reality—one where she must forge her own way, relying on her professional mastery of the arts—such as traditional dance, the *shamisen*, and singing—as well as her skill in hospitality.
