Money Musk

Advanced Tune Tuesday - Money Musk Hello, friends of the fiddle! It took me approximately 87 takes to get this one. (It’s Monymusk. Or Money Musk. Depending on the era.) I would post a blooper reel for you if it wouldn’t contain so much cursing. I learned a very simple two part version of this tune from a JayDean Ludiker book back when I first started teaching - I think she was using it as an introduction to string crossing technique (just a guess, I could be way off here) for her upper beginner fiddlers. But since I am recording it for the #2022advancedplayerschallenge I figured I’d try to level up a bit and learn a more complicated rendition, which caused me no end of grief. But I did it, and now that it’s done, I quite like it! No surprise though - tunes that have lasted since the 1700s probably have something substantial going for them. #fiddle #fiddlestar #fiddlelessons #moneymusk #monymusk
