This walk was filmed during Bucharest Days (Zilele Bucureștiului) 2026, the annual celebration of Romania’s capital. In 2026, Bucharest celebrated 567 years since its first documented mention, dating back to September 20, 1459. Throughout the weekend of September 19–20, different areas of the city came alive with concerts, cultural events, pedestrian streets, exhibitions and outdoor experiences. At the heart of the celebrations was iMapp Bucharest – Winners League 2026, held in Constitution Square (Piața Constituției), directly in front of the Palace of Parliament. Now in its 11th edition, iMapp Bucharest is an international video mapping event where architecture becomes a gigantic canvas for digital art. The approximately 23,000 m² façade of the Palace of Parliament is transformed through light, animation, music and technology into a monumental audiovisual experience. The theme of the 2026 edition was “PAST. FORWARD.”, exploring the connection between past and future through memory, heritage, technology and imagination. Seven international artists and studios competed in the Winners League, representing video-mapping competitions from Hungary, Japan, Germany, France, China, the United States and Brazil. The evening also featured “NADIA – The Perfect 10”, a special projection dedicated to Romanian gymnastics legend Nadia Comăneci, marking 50 years since her historic perfect 10 at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games. The weekend programme also included live music and entertainment, with performances from artists including Rudimental and WhoMadeWho.
