Unboxed: Black Fathers Are Present has moved to The Alex House Project in downtown Brooklyn, a nonprofit supporting young parents.
At the opening, we ended up talking a lot about fathers—about being a father, about our own fathers, and about how ideas of masculinity and fatherhood have changed.
The participants expressed that today fathers have more freedom to be present, affectionate, vulnerable, and involved with their children.
The young parents who use The Alex House Project will encounter the exhibition over the coming weeks as they come in for meetings, information, and support.
The exhibition looks beautiful in its new home—and the conversation about Black fatherhood continues.

Gallery Particulier has for mission to share art in innovative ways, particularly in communities with little access to museums and art galleries.
People can host artwork in the privacy and convenience of their home. We also hold events that crosspollinate visual arts with storytelling, music, poetry, etc.
