Country Music Hall of Famer John Anderson died in his sleep on October 21, 2026, at his home in Smithville, Tennessee. He was 71. Just three days earlier, he was at the Country Music Hall of Fame Medallion Ceremony, laughing and singing his songs with Tim McGraw. This is the story of the man who once worked on the construction crew at the Grand Ole Opry House and ended up in the Hall of Fame: "Swingin'," "Wild and Blue," the years country radio stopped playing him, the "Seminole Wind" comeback, the illness that took his hearing, the album "Years," and the night a new generation sang his songs back to him. Which John Anderson song takes you back to a certain time and place? Tell us in the comments.
