In this episode we venture to the fantastic River Myall Holiday Resort in Bulahdelah, 1 hour North of Newcastle. This newly opened Big4 Caravan Park sits at the foot of the mountains and is only a short jump to Wallis and Smiths Lake as well as Mungo Brush. Positioned along the Myall River the park provides a peaceful rural outlook. A magical boardwalk follows the creek line allowing you to do a spot of fishing or launch a canoe or kayak into the expanse of waterways nearby. But its the facilities that are the winner here and it doesn't matter if you are a young family, a couple looking to relax or even an individual heading out for adventure! Lets start with the glorious camp kitchen and grounds - perched up above the creek it offers vast views over the nearby farmland via the generous wrap around verandahs and seating areas. The camp kitchen offers various cooking options including outside bbqs and preparation areas, inside you have two bays of 6 burner gas cooktops, ovens, microwaves, oodles of bench space and the list just goes on! Duck into the lounge next door and you are greeted by an assortment of stylish seating options ranging from high quality timber and glass tables and chairs, to lounges. No plastic furniture here! Raked ceilings join the VJ lined walls adorned with photos of the past. No longer do you have shower stalls, this park offers private ensuite showers! Great when you have kids and no juggling clean, wet or dirty clothes on the little bench next to the shower we are all pretty used to. The amenities block also offers a great Laundry room, fresh toilet areas and a dog wash! Yes this park is also pet friendly. For the active ones amongst us you have the full size tennis court, a spacious games room, the awesome pool area with water slide and for the kiddies the traditional Big 4 jumping pillow as well as play equipment. You can sit poolside and enjoy a bit of sun or under the covered area off the games room and play some boards games. The choice is all yours. For kids there is also a great little mini cinema for when they need a bit of down time. But you want more. Well the park is conveniently located behind the main street. So within an easy walk you have access to the local baker, butcher, hairdresser, newsagent, IGA, pub and an assortment of cafes and eateries. Venture a bit further into the quaint township and you have a number of other cafes, the bowling club and amenities such as service stations on the old Pacific Highway through town. Noting Bulahdelah is just off the highway, its extremely easy to get to and perfect for short stay if you are travelling the coast. However we recommend an extended stay, giving you ample opportunity to relax and enjoy all this park has to offer while exploring some really fantastic places nearby. Give Kim and Gary and call, you certainly won't be disappointed. #big4holidayparks
