2023 McDougall Memorial Lecture by Tharman Shanmugaratnam

On 1 July, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Co-Chair of the Global Commission on the Economics of Water, delivered the biennial McDougall Memorial Lecture at the 43rd Ministerial Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO). He spoke about various issues on the nexus of water mismanagement and food insecurity, the governance shifts, and technological solutions required to tackle the crises, and the opportunities for national and global economic growth by addressing the crises.
