Recorded on 9 April 2026, Session 2 of the Publication Pathways series brings together journal editors for a focused discussion on publishing in bilingual and international contexts. The session explores how editorial expectations vary across journals, how language influences submission strategies, and how early career researchers can position their work for global readership. The Publication Pathways series is designed to support early career researchers in navigating journal selection, peer review and publishing decisions within an increasingly international research landscape. Session 2 builds on the introductory discussion by offering direct insight from editors working across different publication cultures. The conversation addresses common questions including: how to choose between international and regional journals publishing in English and bilingual formats positioning research for global audiences understanding editorial expectations across journals common reasons submissions are rejected The session draws on perspectives from journals representing different research traditions and editorial approaches, including Landscape Research, Landscape Review, Chinese Landscape Architecture, Landscape Architecture Journal, and Landscape Architecture Frontiers. Together, these viewpoints highlight the diversity of pathways available to early career researchers and the importance of selecting the right journal for your work. The series has been developed by the Landscape Research Group in collaboration with partners in China, including the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and aims to build long-term academic exchange while supporting emerging researchers working across international contexts. Through live streaming provided by Chinese Landscape Architecture Journal channel, over 700 Chinese audience watched this event live.
