Walmart's Warehouse Robots Struggled With Frozen Turkeys

Walmart is automating enormous warehouses with advanced robots, artificial intelligence, and sophisticated inventory systems. But some surprisingly ordinary products still create problems. Frozen turkeys. Oversized dog-food bags. Cardboard boxes. An October 2026 investigation revealed some of the engineering challenges behind Walmart's warehouse automation program, including an incident involving the handling of frozen Thanksgiving turkeys. In this documentary, we examine Walmart's partnership with Symbotic, the difficulty of automating warehouse tasks, and why humans remain important even inside highly automated facilities. What makes certain everyday objects so difficult for industrial robots? And why can changing a cardboard box sometimes be easier than changing the machine? #Supply #Walmart #WarehouseAutomation
