🎵 Two hours of cold sci-fi ambient for deep focus, study, and late-night work. Set inside Engström Lab on Mars — where Detective Holt learns that "We are fine" was received by a person, not a system, and that person doesn't exist in the record anymore. ▼ ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ ENGSTRÖM LAB // TRANSMISSION 017 Mars Station K-23 — Records Protocol [2H] Holt shelves the loose thread from last session and goes back to the source: who on Hyperion actually received "We are fine," and who logged Direktiv 7 four minutes later. ARES calls it a rotation, not a person. Holt asks for the rotation anyway. Six names narrow to one. One shift, two entries, the same hand. But the service record for that name ends four days later — reassigned, destination redacted as "operational necessity," no contact logged since. Whoever picked up that call vanished from the story just as completely as the crew who walked into the base. Built for deep work, late sessions, and the kind of focus that holds even when the case starts asking questions about the people asking the questions. Four Pomodoro cycles across two hours — work, recovery, work again. This transmission follows the Pomodoro Technique across four full cycles. The session begins immediately — no preroll, no instructions, just the rhythm of work and recovery. A synthesized system voice marks each phase transition without breaking the atmosphere. ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ SESSION STRUCTURE 25 minutes of focused work 5 minutes recovery Repeated four times Total runtime: 2 hours Designed to be played in full. One task. No decisions until the outro. ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ CHAPTERS 0:00 - Cold open 1:02 - Phase 1 of 4 // Focus 26:20 - Recovery 1 // Roster 31:16 - Phase 2 of 4 // Focus 56:20 - Recovery 2 // Last Shift 1:01:18 - Phase 3 of 4 // Focus 1:26:20 - Recovery 3 // Gone 1:31:24 - Phase 4 of 4 // Focus 1:56:26 - Outro // Operational Necessity ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ HOW TO USE THIS SESSION Put on headphones. Dim the screen. Commit to one task before the cold open ends. This transmission does not require you to remember six names — only to keep working while Holt narrows them down to one. During recovery, stay present. The dialogue builds across all four cycles. Recovery 3 at 1:26:20 is where the record goes quiet in a way that's harder to shake than the redacted list ever was. After the fourth cycle, close what you opened. Some files close on the people who wrote them too. Pairs especially well with: Deep research and long-form writing Code and technical problem-solving Any work that benefits from sustained quiet Sessions that need to finish before you can think about anything else ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ ABOUT ENGSTRÖM LAB Engström Lab is a sound design project working at the intersection of cyberpunk aesthetics, atmospheric electronic music, and deep work tools. Each transmission is built around a fictional location — abandoned space stations, forgotten outposts, distant colonies — and a structured focus protocol designed for productive deep work. The project draws from the visual language of Blade Runner, Alien, Solaris, Dune, and the realistic hard sci-fi tradition of For All Mankind and The Expanse. The goal is not motivational background noise. The goal is a complete environment you can step into and work inside. ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ NEW TRANSMISSIONS EVERY WEEK Subscribe and turn on notifications. ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ CREDITS Music, visuals, voice synthesis, and concept: Engström Lab Production: AI-assisted creative pipeline Based in: Malmö ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓ #scifiambient #focusmusic #pomodoromusic
