Foundation | Day 18 | Midnight Prayer | Minister Melinda Douglass Scripture(s): Matthew 7:24-29 KJV Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. Proverbs 24:3-4 AMP Through [skillful and godly] wisdom a house [a life, a home, a family] is built, And by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], 4 And by knowledge its rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches. Proverbs 24:14 AMP Know that [skillful and godly] wisdom is [so very good] for your life and soul; If you find wisdom, then there will be a future and a reward, And your hope and expectation will not be cut off. Proverbs 1:7 AMP The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline. Prayer: My Father in Heaven, I thank you for your word and the endless wisdom you give me as your child. You've instructed me to build and established my life upon a rock so that I will not be moved. In order for me to build and not destroy I must live a life in wisdom that is surrendered to you. Abba, cause me to grow in awe of you, that I will not see you as just my savior but also my Lord. Help me to choose you daily and see your correction in love, recognizing it is a blessing for me. It is by help of Holy Spirit that I will live a life that is pleasing to you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
