SYNC SS27 | Ximena Corcuera ft Llorenz Sendra

Art begins when words are not enough. SYNC SS27 is a multidisciplinary fashion project by Mexican designer and creative director Ximena Corcuera, developed in collaboration with Llorenz Sendra, a non-speaking autistic artist with Level 3 autism support needs. At the intersection of fashion, contemporary art, painting, sculpture, and sensory exploration, SYNC challenges conventional ideas of communication, creativity, and normality. The project explores neurodivergence as a space for perceptual freedom, inviting us to connect through feeling, movement, intuition, and shared experience rather than words alone. Rooted in play, experimentation, and mutual learning, the creative process embraces imperfection, vulnerability, and uncertainty as essential parts of discovery. Through movement, repetition, colour, texture, and gesture, Llorenz’s abstract painting practice becomes an autonomous artistic language that expands our understanding of expression and connection. The collection transforms garments into wearable sculptures, inhabitable canvases, and material traces of emotion, memory, and dialogue. Sensory elements such as weight, compression, layering, texture, and colour explore the relationship between the body, perception, and emotional experience. More than a collection, SYNC SS27 is an invitation to experience creation differently: to embrace difference, question established norms, and recognize the possibilities that emerge when we make space for other ways of seeing, feeling, and communicating. Because sometimes, the most meaningful connections happen beyond words.
