One day, a common man appeared in the royal court and complained to the Caliph that one of his close associates had wronged him and taken away his rights. The people present in the court were surprised, as it was not easy to speak against someone close to the ruler. However, Al-Ma'mun listened to the man without any bias and immediately summoned the accused. After hearing both sides and examining the matter, it became clear that the courtier was indeed at fault. Al-Ma'mun, upholding justice, gave a verdict against his own close associate.
