First 5 Minutes of Summer in Newport

Five Minutes of "Summer in Newport" Making movies has always been one of my passions. What’s changed is how much room AI now gives an independent storyteller. Scenes, period settings, and characters that would once have needed a crew and a budget are within reach of one person working in their spare time. So I set myself a goal last year as the tools improved: produce five minutes of a story I’ve wanted to tell. Set in Newport, Rhode Island, in the summer of 1983, against the backdrop of the America’s Cup and an annual beach tennis tournament. It follows a composite of characters moving through a town that looks idyllic on the surface. Underneath, there are reminders of the wider world: the Soviets, a rising Japan, and a social fabric under stress. There's a fair amount of scripting, imaging, light and sound editing involved - but I won't pretend it's perfectly where I want it. Appreciative to everyone who enjoys the short, and I look forward to getting to part 2!
