Dawa Dachhiri is a role model in Nepal. 15 years ago, this young Sherpa was no more than a Buddhist monk, in a monastery lost in the heart of the Himalayas. Nowadays married to a Swiss woman, expatriated in the heart of the alps, he prepares the Trail running event for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games. During his 7 years in the monastery, Dawa has followed strict and multidisciplinary training. In addition to learning Nepalese, Tibetan and English, he developed a highly-attuned mastery of his own body, as well as strong compassion. Now, in the purest Buddhist tradition, and in accordance with his learning, Dawa wishes to make the most of his recent status to gather enough funds to build a monastic school in Mera, his home village. To that end, Dawa has created the Solokhumbu Trail: a 300km and 15,000m incline ramble in his native land. On the tracks of this uncanny trail runner, discover the Land of the Gods and the extraordinary destiny of the Buddhist monk who ran for the Olympic Gold.
