EP2 - 'IBERIAN TWISTS & TAPAS TOUR' | PORTUGAL

This is episode two of my 11-night trip to Portugal. 🏍 Filming Setup and Riding Gear is linked below ⬇ I travelled from the UK via Brittany Ferries overnight ferry from Plymouth to Santander before heading to Portugal for 8 nights with 28 other motorcyclists. We travelled from Santander to our first night meet-up in Cangas de Onis before heading to Villafranca del Bierzo. Our third route took us into Porto for two nights and a rest day exploring the city. We then headed South, to an overnight in the city of Fatima before heading further Southward and the walled city of Evora for two nights. Next, we headed to a favourite of mine and our two-night accommodation in the Serra da Estrela mountains and the highest point in Portugal. Our ‘rest day’ was spent ‘enthusiastically’ riding as many of the well groomed roads in the area (Editor’s note: Ride this fantastic area asap, before they install average speed cameras!) Our final night in Portugal was spent in the buzzy city of Chaves in the North, before we returned into Spain and spent our last night of the tour in the touristy Leon with its Cathedral and many eateries. It was a Sunday, so all the family generations were out in the streets, dressed in their finest clothes and spending time with friends and relatives. I organised the tour for a total of 29 motorcycle members of the UK motorcycling club, www.pemc.co.uk. The PEMC club has over 350 members, mostly based in the UK, who enjoy a wide variety of well-priced events and trips based around the UK & Europe. *There are some Portuguese Toll roads on some of these daily routes, so, it made sense to pre-register a credit card with an upfront £1 cost, then any further tolls were automatically registered. We then headed South-East on some fantastic country roads to our two-night stay in the oldest hotel within the walled city of Evora, Portugal.
