Cycling The Elora Cataract Rail Trail From Hillsburgh To Elora: A guide to your journey!

Hello, and once again, welcome back to another cycling adventure that takes me across the Grand River watershed from Hillsburgh and through to Fergus and Elora., possibly one of the best trails in Ontario.🚴‍♂️🌲 This trip was supposed to start in Erin; unfortunately, I failed to realize the scale of the construction project that was underway, which shut down the whole trail from Erin to Hillsburgh, a five-kilometre stretch that is not easily bypassed, and the name 'Hill" in Hillsburgh is the main reason for that. The project, when complete, will connect Erin and Hillsburgh's water infrastructure, plus revitalize the trail with new trees and infrastructure that will support the growing population of Erin. Starting off in Hillsburgh makes it a very reasonable trip for anyone to accomplish on either an E-bike or a regular bicycle, and even possibly as a hiker. It was one of the busier trails I've been on, mainly due to the population in Fergus and Elora, and the trail serves as an efficient means for people to walk and cycle between the two communities for both work and recreational purposes. You could spend a lot of time in these communities window shopping, enjoying some of the finer eating establishments, and taking in the views, and the bicycle is a perfect way to do just that. 🚴‍♀️ So the next time you visit from the GTA, or anywhere, for that matter, consider a bike ride into these towns, and see the small-town life from a perspective only experienced from a calm and smooth ride through these quiet communities.
