(Alas, the rooster crowed!)" ~The plight of a woman who has been hankering for the arrival of her lover. After keeping her waiting for a long time, he arrives. But by the tume she gets through the preliminaries, the rooster crows abruptly ending their dalliance. The wry humour with which she recounts the tale to her friend builds the mood of the piece. ~
