Spring Is Here (Bud Powell) – tenor sax play-along with improvisations and melodic elaborations. In this video I use Bud Powell's recording as a foundation to elaborate the melody, adding ornaments, counter-melodies, and small improvisations while respecting the piece tension. This continues an ongoing project where I explore jazz, classical, and film music through tenor sax improvisation, reharmonization, and personal interpretation. Composition: "Spring Is Here" is a popular 1938 song composed by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Lorenz Hart for the musical I Married an Angel. Recording reference: Bud Powell's interpretation of the song as a jazz piano performance, notably featured on his 1955 album Bud Powell's Moods.
